Quilting with Connection - Jamey of Grace & Piece Co.

I’m so excited to introduce you to Jamey of Grace & Piece Co. She is my guest blog writer this month, and she’ll tell you more about her business- how quilting and connection go hand-in-hand. I first met Jamey online through her business and felt a connection to her and her product. We both have teaching degrees and have taught several years. We share of love of God, quilting, and beautiful designs! I hope you enjoy learning more about Jamey and Grace &Piece Co. ❤️

Quilting creates connection.

That’s the mission statement behind my business, Grace & Piece Co. Hi, I’m Jamey, and I’m the owner and designer of quilt themed stationery, stickers, bookmarks, notepads, and gifts.

Grace & Piece Co. is honestly a part of my story that has taken me by surprise. I was an elementary teacher for 14 years before I decided to stay home with our three daughters. In 2019, with the help of YouTube tutorials and a few books, I began quilting. As a busy mom with young children, sewing time can be sporadic, but I became obsessed with fabrics and patterns, often saving quilt ideas as screenshots on my phone.

In 2022, I was blessed to start working a few hours a month doing photography and marketing for a wonderful local quilt shop in my area of southeastern South Dakota. During my hours in the shop, I have been able to see how fun and friendly quilters can be! These women have formed a beautiful community, and they love taking classes, having show-and-tell, and attending shop hops together!

This job and my role serving my church for a few years with graphic design and social media helped me little by little to develop new skills in design and creativity. I am still learning and developing my ability, and sometimes it feels like God shows me an idea in my mind, and then I try to recreate it digitally.

The last few years have felt a little dark and tumultuous for many of us, and so much current research says that our society is very lonely and anxious. That is part of my reason for trying to create small, thoughtful cards and gifts that quilters can give to each other. My stationery sets can be given as gifts or used to send an encouraging note to a friend or family member.

I also create quilt stickers and bookmarks that make great gifts for quilt retreats, guilds, and Bible study groups.

My hope is that these simple gifts will help quilters bless each other with little tokens of joy!

Blessings,

Jamey
